Korea Reunion 2017-03-11 ¿ÀÀü 9:17:00

People can say that North and South Korea is just one country divided into two. But truly, it is not. There are too many differences to say that these two countries were one, and should become one again. I am not in the place to have a say in what have already happened, but this is not simply a matter of opinion but of deep concern. As a proud South Korean, my country proudly stands as 11th place in the economic rankings globally. However, the economy of South Korea will certainly decline if the two nations rejoin. Advantages exist by reuniting, but the disadvantages overwhelm those minute benefits.

North Korea states that they rule by democratic government. However, from the perspective of both a person who listens to current events and who is a neighboring citizen, a single dictator rules the country. This government differs from South Korea's democracy. South Korea's democracy is a government where the citizens vote their president. Other countries, such as the United States, are voted through representatives of states. The electoral votes are what elects the president, not the popular votes. This pure democracy South Korea should also be proud of will crumble once the two nations reunite and the two governments possess problems against one another.

Not only that but South Korea's economy will collapse soon. The workplaces needed by North Koreans will overwhelm the workplaces South Korea can provide. Also, North Korea struggles to avoid being the country with the lowest economy. With this country and the citizens who live poorly, South Korea is doomed to fall from their proud position of ranking. Samsung affects the world globally and economically, and if this goliath company falls, the whole world will be confused and turn chaotic. This reunion might cause world disorder.

North and South Koreans have lived their lives differently for seventy years, so joining the two countries together might be like forcing two foreign countries together. Despite using the same language and having the same ancestors, the two different types of citizens might feel awkward working together. These two completely different countries, only similar by ancestry, will cause problems both within the country and outside the country. Not only will this affect neighboring countries, but it will also affect all the countries economically. Because of these definite drawbacks, North and South Korea should not unite into one country.

People can say that North and South Korea is just one country divided into two. However, this is not the truth. There are too many differences to say that these two countries are in fact one country, and that they should become one again. I am not able to change what has already happened, but this is not simply a matter of opinion but of deep concern. As a proud South Korean, my country proudly stands as 11th place in economic rankings globally. However, the economy of South Korea will certainly decline if there is reunification. Advantages certainly do exist by reuniting, but the disadvantages heavily outweigh the advantages.

North Korea states that their government is democratic. However, from the perspective of both a person who is aware of current events and who is a citizen who lives in the neighboring country, it is clear that a single dictator rules North Korea. This government differs from South Korea's democracy. South Korea's democracy is a government where the citizens vote for their president. Other countries, such as the United States, vote through representatives of states. The electoral votes are what elect the president, not the popular votes. South Korea has a pure democracy that will crumble once the two nations reunite and the two governments will face many problems with one another.

In addition, South Korea's economy will collapse. The high demand for job employment by North Koreans will overwhelm the workplaces in South Korea. Also, North Korea is currently struggling with its weak economy. With the combination of the weak economy and the poor citizens, South Korea is doomed to fall from its high position economically. Samsung affects the globe economically and if this goliath company falls, the whole world will be confused and panic. Reunification between North and South Korea might cause global pandemonium.

North and South Korean citizens have lived differently for seventy years, so joining these two countries together might be like forcing two foreign countries become one. Despite using the same language and having the same ancestors, the two different citizens might feel awkward working together. With ancestry as its only commonality, these two completely different countries will cause problems both inside and outside of the country. Not only will this affect neighboring countries, but it will also affect the globe economically. Due to these apparent drawbacks, there should not be reunification between North and South Korea.
