Soongduck elementary school.
Today, I `d like to introduce and discuss one of Korea`s most horrific unsolved crimes. Do you know of the frog boys affair?

On March 26th ,1991 in Daegoo five elementary school students disappeared. They left home to catch salamander eggs on Mt. Waryong .
After their friends and neighbors watched them journey happily to the mountain, the boys were never seen alive again. For 11 years their disappearance was a complete mystery, and a nightmare for their families.

A massive search was organized by the government and the entire country became obsessed with the details of the 5 boys` fates. The Korean government sent 300,000 police to Mt. waryong to search for the boys, or clues of their where abouts. Only two witnesses had information for the police. A neighbor saw the boys walking up the base of the mountain. Another, the boys friend who was also on the mountain, said he heard screams. Finally, 11 years later, bones were found on the mountain. The police believed they died of hypothermia, despite witness accounts.
But forensic evidence that revealed they had most likely been brutally murdered.

However, they had decomposed so much that it was hard to decide murder. Korean law states that a crime cannot be prosecuted after 9 years.
However, This ineffective law was changed in July of this year and it is now possible to continue investigating the case.
Hopefully, with smart police work dedication, we can find the criminal responsible for this horrific crime.
