Universiade of Gwungju is 53 days away.
Many events wait for us such as baseball, soccer and golf.

A lot of people are looking forward to this Universiade.
So, Korea is preparing hard and selecting players.
About 120 countries and more than 20,000 players will participate
in it. Universiade started in 1959 and FISU (International University Sports Federation) hosted.
In 1959, it started in Italy , and it was called `Universiade` , which means `University` plus `Olympiad`.
Universiade occurs in summer and winter.
In summer it is played for ten days, and in the winter for seven days.
Universiade had many problems.

In 1967, universiade was held in Tokyo. But, there was a naming dispute among some countries. So, countries in the Communist bloc didn`t participate in it.
Next, in 1969, universiade was held in Lisbon. But Portugal suddenly decided not to host it, and it was hold in Italy again in 1970. Many problems happened.
Korea held it in 1997, 2006 and will do so again this year.

I`m looking forward to Korea getting many medals.
Lastly, in sports the most important point is safety. So we should pray for the players` health.
