No dislike button on Facebook?
Zuckerberg replied to a question regarding whether a dislike button would be considered: "We listen to all the user suggestions and it's something that we've thought about. You know, people like the Like button so much ... I dunno, it's something that we would definitely think about. People definitely seem to want it."
Facebook is a form of social media which we can easily get addicted to as it is a source of media where we can interact and share fun with our peers. One distinct characteristic Facebook has is its like button. The like button serves several purposes for Facebook. One would be to get people more engaged of a certain activity, advertisement, products, and so on. Another purpose could be to Increase the clicks for web publishers. It is more likely for a Facebook user to like an article rather than to share it. By liking more posts, it can create more connections amongst the users as it brings people with the same interest together. However, to come to think of it, if there is a like button why shouldn¡¯t there be a dislike button? There are several reasons to why making a dislike button would be ineffective. It would firstly create significant tensions between Facebook, and other brands and web publishers. It would become a very unfavorable place for brands to advertise spend their marketing budgets. To make it simple, the like button would mean connections. However, the dislike button would mean separation and division. A dislike button wouldn¡¯t be favorable in any way for Facebook.
