Most of the people know that sharing is something that we should put into action. But we hesitate for a while¡¦¡¦why? That¡¯s because we do not know how to share. Or maybe, we think that donating money is the only thing we can do for the poor. But no way! There are tons of beautiful ways to share and help. UNICEF planned a project named ¡®Imagine¡¯.
In order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of¡¯ Declaration of Rights of the Child¡¯, which is a document UN adopted to protect the children and their rights, UNICEF proceeded this project. This project was conducted by Yoko Ono, John Lennon¡¯s wife, and Hugh Jackman, an actor. By singing John Lennon¡¯s wonderful and iconic song ¡®Imagine¡¯, UNICEF wanted people to enhance their awareness of children¡¯s human rights. Also UNICEF hoped that people have the time to imagine a world which is better for children and make that vision real. This project highlights the challenges that face children right across the world and to raise fund for UNICEF and their work they do in 190 countries and territories.
Many famous stars and celebrities including Ban Gi Moon, the secretary general of UN, Kim Yuna, a Korean figure skater, Katy Perry, a singer participated in this project. Anyone can join this project! There is a digital app that people can use to record their own versions. It may seem meaningless but it is not because every voice counts just as every child counts. One might think that one¡¯s voice is useless because it is so small that it would reach nowhere. But if he or she starts to raise his or her voice, the voice will get bigger and stronger. Don¡¯t be afraid of starting something good and meaningful. People will start to realize the importance and join your actions to make a better world. Your small voice can grow to be a big help to someone. |
