Solar energy in use 2015-06-23 ¿ÀÈÄ 6:09:00

Solar energy is one of the most efficient renewable energy sources because it offers continuous solar energy without emitting toxic pollution or global warming emissions. Though, it has some environmental impacts too, such as land use, loss of habitats and hazardous materials.

Problems of land loss and loss of habitats are deliberately linked together. Solar panels take up lots of land. In addition, it can make wildlife difficult to find food, water, shelter, mates and protection from predators.

Manufacturing the PV cells requires lots of hazardous materials so workers are constantly exposed to risks of inhaling chemical dusts. In U.S, it is obligatory to follow security regulations and dispose the manufacturing waste products properly because it could cause pollution and health problems.

Using solar panels doesn¡¯t emit greenhouse gases. In fact a solar panel itself can save energy and reduce greenhouse gases, but there are emissions produced in the process of manufacturing, transportation and so on. Despite it produces greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, converting from fossil fuel power plant to solar power plant would cut the air pollution by 90 percent.

Solar technology is considered as an outstanding energy source in the future along with lower costs and improved efficiency. In the next few years, it is expected that millions of households in the world will be using solar energy as the trends in USA and Japan show.
