The Cheoyong Cultural Festival opens

The cheoyong cultural festival is putting their point in getting residents or strangers

to participate and harmony. The main cermony and main performance, experience

display, contest conference opens.

Let's find out what the festival does exactly.



The first day's night begins with before festival performance followed by the next

day's street performance. The street parade usually contains king Hyeongang(of the

Silla dynasity)'s royal carriage parade.

It reproduces king Hyeongang meeting cheoyong at Gaewoonpo(개운포) in Ulsan

hwangseongdong(황성동) and going back to Seourabul(서라벌), now gyeongju(경

주).

Street parade is sometimes changed by when the festival opens and the rate of

participation.

Cheonyong, king Hyeongang, and the queen who takes part in the parade is chosen

among citizens by the programe : "Find Cheoyong".

This is said to be an important tool for letting know the cheoyong cultural festival to a

lot of people and getting people to self-participate.

It has a long history coming down from the old Ulsan Industry Festival, 1967.

It has become a place of harmonization and rest for the residents.
