These days there are moms who are hovering around their children like a helicopter. We call them "Helicopter Mom". Many Korean people have interest in education. Of course, especially helicopter moms strongly focus on children's grade. They deeply interfere in getting their sons and daughters to make good marks in their schools and are even helping them to get good jobs after becoming adults. Therefore children may become mama's boys and girls. They can't make any decisions on their own.


There was an episode explaining this situation well. One day a university humanities professor received an absurd call from some mothers. She said, "My son's grade is too low. I can't understand why? You should give higher score to my son. He took final exams well." The professor thoroughly check out if there were some mistakes on his test paper, but There was nothing wrong with it. so he courteously refused the demand. Actually, the students didn't bring up a problem about their grade. But helicopter moms often send e-mails or make a call, then they impolitely request professors to give higher credits to their sons and daughters like this. They regard their University students as kindergarten students.

Recently, as those kinds of moms' power grow stronger in the university, a lot of undesirable things happen. The elite universities' parents organized PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and hold a regular meeting. Then they aggressively ask teachers and professors to correct their children's grades and marks. Some parents who have medical students also meet regularly professors to make them carpetbag.

Like this, the helicopter moms who too much interfere in their children's life are increasing because of competitive society. They want their children to live more happily and comfortably than them. However, they should know that too much concern about their sons and daughters will make their life harsher and tougher.
