Social commerce ¡®Wemakeprice.com' has been caught by ¡®Fair Trade Commission¡¯ because of their excessive and lying advertisement toward compete company ¡®Coupang¡¯.
They announced that the ¡®W¡¯ site made excess advertisement saying that they sell their products on lower price than their 'Coupang¡¯(www.coupang.com)'.
"W is the lowest item seller". "Only site giving in low prices" etc. They made their copies too excessive. Also they changed company¡¯s name 'Coupang' to 'Gupang' and expossed liying advertisement through 'YouTube' saying "Gupang is a monster of sucking money" etc. And these negative expressions have made people misunderstood that Coupangs goods are really that expensive.
Tae Hee- Lee, Director of Fair Trading Office said "It was the first time that FTC controlled rash advertisement and It will be a right paragon to other enterprises on their fair competing, and we will continue investigating other samples of unfair commerce activities."
Conflicting or competing in society lead our social more profitable, but before that, corporate ethics should be reminded to all of the enterprises.
