Are you sure you want to add pearls to your drink? 2015-01-26 ¿ÀÈÄ 3:45:00

Bubble tea is a Taiwanese tea-based drink which has been a worldwide phenomenon especially in Asian countries, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and China. This sugary specialty beverage can be somewhat hazardous to your health. According to research, the black pearls that are added to your drink in the past have been found to contain banned chemical additives. In August 2012, scientists from the Technical University of Aachen in Germany analyzed bubble tea to find that it contained styrene, acetophenone and brominated substances. In May 2013 the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration issued an alert on the detection of maleic acid, which is an unapproved food, addictive in tapioca pearls. The Daily news also reported that the tapioca pearls may include cancer-causing chemicals known aspolychlorinated biphenyls or PCBs, the Daily news reported.
Continuous research is being conducted on whether the tapioca pearls in bubble tea can really be toxic to our health and no one actually yet can say for sure that it is cancer causing, but as there are such claims from reliable sources that tapioca pearls aren't healthy, you would want to think twice about continuing to consume this beverage.
