Crocs, a health hazard...
I¡¯m sure you remember the times when crocs used to be a world phenomenon for a period of time. Those comfortable, colorful, lightweight shoes were much of a comfortable choice for kids and adults. Due to the rubber material it is made out of, it has become extremely popular with its good gripping surfaces. Especially kids and working people choose to wear crocs as it can be worn indoors because they are clean, light and comfortable. However, crocs have started to be banned from several hospitals due to the dangers it brings along. The ventilation holes on the front and the open heel is the cause of the problem. For those who are working, crocs prove to be unable to protect the feet, while for children crocs can lead up to frequent accidents. A typical example would be on moving escalators. Crocs or other rubber clogs can easily get stuck and sucked to a moving escalator. Worst cases would be when the toes get ripped off by the escalator.
¡°These type of shoes can put kids at risk because they¡¯re really only to be used for the beach or the pool. When you¡¯re going to places such as ball games and amusement parks, they should really be wearing closed-toes shoes.¡± Said Kathleen Huddy, Good Housekeeping Institute. Crocs are not meant to be worn as your daily shoe, use it for its purpose only. Or else, you know the consequences.
