Have you ever participated in a campaign to help other people? If you have never participated in a campaign or think campaigns are not interesting but just boring thing, how about this campaign? I will introduce a unique campaign, which is called Ice Bucket Challenge, to you.
The origin of this campaign is the Cold Water Challenge. In northern USA, since 2013, this campaign which encouraged people to take a bath in cold water was in fashion. But it was criticized by many people because participants can be in failing health. When this campaign was out of fashion, a person encouraged people to donate money to religious organizations or take a bath in water. Due to his encouragement, this campaign was in fashion again. People who watched his video about encouraging people to participate in this campaign dumped a bucket of water instead of taking a bath in water. In New Zealand, this way was used to raise money for cancer patients and became popular on social media.
If you want to participate in Ice Bucket Challenge, first, start with making a video. Then, through your video, point out three people who will participate in this campaign and induce them to dump a bucket of water on their heads or donate 100 dollars to the ＊ALS Association. These days, some people often dump a bucket of water on their heads and donate money too. Through this campaign, you can help patients who have ALS. The original purpose of this campaign was not helping ALS patients but supporting organizations where participants want to help. When it starts to be in fashion, the purpose of this campaign became helping ALS patients through donating to ALS Association in USA.
Furthermore, many famous celebrities participated in this campaign such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Robert Downey Jr. and Lionel Messi etc. Even current and former presidents have been induced in this campaign. Barack Obama, the current US president, was pointed out to participate in this campaign. He donated 100 dollars instead of completing the challenge. Former president George Bush participated in this campaign and nominated Bill Clinton.
