Cosmetic Surgeries- is it justified? 2019-01-01 ¿ÀÈÄ 5:24:00

Are cosmetic surgeries justified?
Due to the rapid development in the field of cosmetics, many individuals in the contemporary world can readily access schedules regarding cosmetic surgeries that can yield advanced results compared to the past ones. As a result, an individual now can alter the appearance of their whole body, including details in facial features, or the muscles in the waist or the legs. As the generalization of these surgeries continues, there are unwarranted concerns about the moral implications of this technology. The main concern is that the act of fixing and designing one¡¯s face is unethical because it goes against the idea of inherent beauty. Furthermore, some people claim that cosmetic surgeries and the advertisements for these surgeries can encourage people to have dissatisfaction towards one¡¯s initial appearance.
Yet, there seem to be appearances of vocal individuals who contend that cosmetic surgeries are justified and that the individuals who choose the path of receiving these surgeries shouldn¡¯t be the target of criticism. According to the exponents of plastic surgery, it is the society which instigates individuals to strive to become prettier and become more attractive to others. It is now an indubitable fact that the discrimination depending on an individual¡¯s appearance is prevalent. One¡¯s beauty and attractiveness affect his/her everyday life from the very minor event to major events such as employment or marriage. The number of opportunities which a person can seek differs depending on other¡¯s perspective upon their appearance. Thus, it is an inevitable fact that society is pushing the minorities to the verge of being desperate enough to become prettier with the help of cosmetic surgery.
Finally, to directly address the question if cosmetic surgeries are ¡°justified¡±, individuals have their own choice to do whatever they want with their body. In other words, they have autonomy in conducting whatever act to their own face.
