WHO has declared a health emergency for the ebola virus. Therefore, we must avoid traveling to West Africa. However, in Korea, we have similar problems which are sinkholes, especially in Seoul. Maybe you can guess what I will talking about. Yes, it is about ebola virus and sinkholes. These two problems have the same level of urgency, because they are both dangerous and concern the whole world.

First, I will tell you about the ebola virus. Ebola started with only three people. They were a kid, who was first to be infected and two doctors who were near the kid. However the virus spread broadly because of developed transportation. It became a worldwide problem. We found ebola in 1976 but it wasn't big problem like now. Its' main source was the fruit bat. Those bats infected other animals with ebola, and when humans touched the infected carcasses, the ebola infected humans, too! There is a vaccine for ebola that is called ZMapp and it is being tested in Africa. Unfortunately the effect of ZMapp is not clear.

The next thing that I will like to tell you is sinkholes. In Seoul, there were little sinkholes, but in the past 5 years, this number has expanded to 130 sinkholes just in Seoul! The process to create sinkholes is that first the rain goes into the land and it melts the limestone and makes a cavity. Then the cavity becomes bigger because of the acid rain. When the caves can't maintain the weight of the above, it becomes a sinkhole. Because we can't know when or where it will happen, we have to live in fear. In Song Pa Gu there have been 7 cavities found.

In conclusion, I think we have to find the solution to the ebola virus and sinkholes, because these two are the result of the advanced technology. So we must find ways to live in harmony with advanced technology and human safety.
