France Fashion in Rococo Age 2014-07-08 ¿ÀÀü 1:02:00

When Louis XIV died, Francd nobles moved from the Versailles Palace to salon. Salon was the place where nobles, literary man, and politician get together to think and talk about philosophy, science, literature, politic, art, etc. 'Rococo style' was born in here.
The word 'rococo' came from the French word which meant the rock decorated with shellfishes. This was because the pattern in decoration looked like shellfish' shell. In the age, France was the center of European culture.
Rococo women was just like decorations in salon. They wore dresses with tight waist and wide skirt. They also decorated themselves with ribbons and laces in order to express themselves as art work.
Especially, their hair style was very unique. It soared high as if they were competing. Some hair were so high that they had to drop on their knees when they ride coach.
Making these high hair style, they had to wear wig and many special ornaments such as flowers, dolls, and even windmills. Then, they did not brush or wash their hair for some months because their effort on hair was pitiful.
The best dressers in this age are Madame de Pompadour and Queen Marie Antoinette. Madame de Pompadour was a recognized beauty woman by many people. She influence on many parts of society, such as politic, culture, and art. She was also a fashion leader. She was loved by France King Louis XV. She was beautiful and well educated.
Queen Marie Antoinette was a queen of France king Louis XVI. She was very pretty and cute, so she was even called as a 'a small fairy'. However, she indulged in luxury as if the Versailles Palace was her own fashion stage. Then, every woman in palace and salon was busy copying her fashion.
